July 22, 2012

www.bluffparkbackporch.com

Greetings from the Bluff Park Back Porch:

Last week 2.51 inches of rain fell on BP2.

This Week:  20% – 30% chance of thunderstorms everyday with highs in the lower to mid 90’s and lows in the lower 70’s.

Our elemental guess this week has an atomic number of 8.
–    By mass, it is the third-most abundant element in the universe, after hydrogen and helium and the most abundant element by mass in the Earth’s crust, making up almost half of the crust’s mass.
–    It makes up about 2/3 of our body mass.
–    It is indispensable to life support for space craft, submarine, scuba divers,  commercial and military jet air craft, rockets, and for sick medical patients..
–    Industrial processes include the smelting of iron ore into steel, the making of ethylene glycol which makes up antifreeze and plastics, metal cutting – welding, water purification, and on and on.

What is it?  O _ _ _ _ _.
