Karst Terrain is usually (most of the time) developed from either limestone (
CaCO3) or dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2.  But, out west, gypsum,CaSO4·2H2O will develop karst terrain and along with sulfuric acid in New Mexico http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lechuguilla_Cave
