Greetings from the Bluff Park Back Porch, way up yonder on Shades Mountain (1,109′) in Alabama:

Vacation Rocks:
  (Yes, the Devil is in the Details, but it sure is pretty and rugged.)

The headwaters region of the Cullasaja River is underlain by metasedimentary and meta-igneous rocks of the
Neoproterozoic {the unit of geologic time from 1,000 to 541 million years ago}, including gneiss,schist, and amphibolite, Deformation, metamorphism, and intrusion occurred roughly simultaneously during the Taconic orogeny, about 470 million years ago.


For the previous week, 0.12 inches of rain fell on BP2 The weekly high was 95 and the weekly low was 65.
  Humidity ranged from 98% down to 26%.  Maximum wind gust was 17 mph.
